You will be in charge of leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary squads, enabling them to advance, streamline their pipeline of work and deliver software with high productivity and quality. You will work with the Fraud and Ops Tools squads, product managers, architects, and other business operations stakeholders to define plans, capacity needs, technical and infrastructure requirements, and execute to deliver the best technical solutions at the global enterprise level at scale.

This is a role for an active and experienced technical leader, who has the additional capability of leading squad teams, hiring and retaining the best talent with the right culture fit, understanding business requirements, and translating them to reliable delivery plans. The Squad Lead assesses productivity, health of the squads, lead by example, and coach people on developing new skills. To succeed you will need to be hands-on, have empathy with your own team and other stakeholders, an eye to strategy and short-term deliverables, being a great listener and communicator, and focus on building relations across the organization. Uses creativity and imagination to overcome barriers, complexity and leverage people's talents to meet delivery deadlines of outstanding and valued added products, services and features.

The Squad Lead plays a key role in the success of the squads by leading the technical strategy, creating and organizing the teams who will build and deliver with fruition. You will hire top talent across the world to create a state of the art multidisciplinary product engineering organization that will create, launch and improve technology products that will help Bitso make crypto useful. This role is accountable for the outcomes of the squad and the development of the team members. In addition, working closely with the Product Owner should help identify the functional requirements and make a plan to make them happen. As a people-oriented position, the Squad Lead needs to take care of the growth and specialization of their reports, understanding and working hard to keep as high as possible the team's morale.

**Your impact**:

- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship. That is, leading the development of team members, in short, medium and long term.
- Determine Squad's development strategy and planning the squad's projects
- Assist the team defining the resources they need and find a way to provide it to them
- Communicate constantly with Product owners, architects, and other stakeholders..
- Guarantee squad's health and great performance.
- Assess demand pipeline from Product as well Engineering strategic initiatives and assign ownership to squad leads.
- Plan project work-breakdown and strategies for the most efficient flows and delivery of value with Product and Engineering squads.
- Plan the capacity and competencies required for recruitment needs, anticipating and estimating the projects.
- Work with Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters for continued improvements on flows, relations, dependencies with other Tribes, gain prioritization through value-added arguments and data, and escalate blockers as they appear.
- Provide leadership and technological guidance to the squads when there are uncertainties.
- Work closely with Product Managers to build a state of the union, the same with Architects and Design teams.
- Understand the pain points being experienced by the team, and determine the best course of action.
- Identify high performers that need to be nurtured and lower performers that need assistance.
- Provide guidance through Bitso values when there is conflict, threat, or attrition.
- Provider of context when there are changes and the voice of reason when there is debate.
- Challenge the status-quo, seeking customer value at all times, by delivering innovative and quality software solutions.
- Run performance reviews, assign promotions, making sure success planning is a fact.

**Who you are**:

- 5+ years experience working as a Software Engineer, with the last 2 years as Tech Lead.
- Good experience on recruitment process and interviews.
- Familiar with AWS services and how to leverage the cloud to enable productivity.
- Experience measuring and continuously improving the performance of the organization.
- Familiar with leadership, potential and performance management, and feedback techniques.
- Experience managing people and creating the conditions to keep them engaged and happy at work.
- Building for scale and growth, with high quality standards and practices.
- Knows how to motivate teams through practical challenges.
- Ability to make decisions quickly or with limited information.
- Incredible problem solving abilities at organizational, technological and processual levels. Hacks positively to deliver value to customers.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong computer science and team leadership knowledge.
