Land Access Professional

**Responsibilities**
- Provide clear strategies, plans and coordination of Land Access requirements to the Project team.
- Carry out the initial land records assessment of rural properties intended for the implementation of projects and existing land lease contracts and point out possible risks or pending land record regularization;
- Support/Diligence/Lead negotiations and relationship negotiations with the land owners affected by the projects, in order to guarantee the smooth progress of the activities and needs of the projects.
- Provide coordination between key stakeholders, to develop property access strategies.
- Interface between the other departments, mainly Engineering, Sitting, Environment and Legal, and provide technical and legal subsidies for opinion formation;
- Carry out the mapping of land and environmental constraints of the projects;
- Assist to develop and direct the land access program to the approved program timeline.
- Interface and initial relationship with agencies and institutions, at the Federal, State and Municipal levels, involved in the land record regularization of properties;
- Organize and review, together with the Legal team, the documents necessary for carrying out/celebrating public acts at a notary's office;
- Support Due Diligence processes for new projects;
- Support in the implementation of management tools, including GIS and general controls
- Carry out field visits to local projects and institutions;
- Carry out the control and fulfillment of the contractual obligations of land contracts and relationship with landowners.
- Leverage your industry experience in State Government tenure documentation processes to continually improve the ability of the business to achieve property access and approval outcomes in a timely manner.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in land economics/law professional however not essential.
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in Land Access or proven equivalent experience (related to major infrastructure projects).
- Proven experience organizing and delivering land access for significant state-level projects (e.g. wind farms, solar farms, transmission, distribution, water pipes, gas lines, roads, rail).
- Knowledge, understanding in the evaluation of rural property records, mainly registrations, deeds, CCIR, ITR, CAR;
- Knowledge, understanding of release of right-of-way on transmission line
- Understanding/knowledge of DUP process
- Be able to read and interpret kmz & shapes cartographic files, maps, topography data
- Understanding/knowledge of notary rites in general, mainly, drawing up of public deeds and enrollment records/annotations;
- English required. Spanish appreciated.

**Competencies**

To be truly effective in this front line position, you should demonstrate significant influencing skills, high level negotiation skills and a proven knowledge of the varying protocols across state Government legislation relating to land access in Brazil. The main expected competencies are:

- Significant experience effectively handling internal and external stakeholders;
- Relationship skills with the public bodies, at the Federal, State and Municipal levels;
- Operation and management of GIS tool (once implemented);
- Drone operation and processing of collected data (desirable);
- Basic knowledge of the needs and constraints of the Environment;
- English required. Spanish appreciated.
- Negotiation skills with affected/interfered landowners
