Wabtec is hiring a New Product Sourcing Specialist to be accountable for the multi category supplier management, responsible for, managing policies, agreements and implementation of a local or regional sourcing strategy for Wabtec Latam. This professional will lead and drive the current performance of the supply base, evaluate strategic options, decide a course of action, and begin implementation. It will be of high importance to build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationship at all organizational levels

Main responsibilities:

- Manage the supplier base in order to obtain the necessary improvements to achieve the above and protect the business against potential unfavorable market trends.
- Drive cost competitiveness in assigned product line by working closely with Engineering, Process Engineering, Product Management and Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Build business case for Make or Buy, localization in the assigned category and product line for improving competitiveness.
- Mapping of actual spend (supplier mapping & supply flows, technology mapping, competition risks, know-how & technology shifts, Purchase Amount trends, shortage Impacts, Risk mitigation, Dual Sourcing, Contracting and Terms & Conditions situation, obsolete management )
- Drive and Monitor the selection process of new suppliers, from identification of potential suppliers to qualification, audits, assessments & contracting and up to the validation of processes.
- Definition of the Sourcing Plan including a Supplier Reduction plan, verification of their competences, capabilities.
- Negotiate supplier frame agreements and supply contracts (VMI / YoY Productivity / Safety Stock / Sustainability).
- Ensure the technical and market intelligence for the respective commodities and suppliers capacities annual budget plans.
- Monitor and mitigate all business cycle inflations.
- Drive, improve and optimize working capital
- Ensure low level of inventories and optimize MOQ, LT and Quality.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in relevant area
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills
