About The Team/Role
We are the Core Information Delivery team, providing core reporting frameworks for WEX's industry-leading fuel card platform. We are redefining monolithic reporting interfaces by modularization and microservices with APIs for both internal and external customers, and we're focused at modernization and ci/cd deployments.

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you will be designing, developing, testing and maintaining our core reporting stack deployed as a cloud-native solution. You'll work with a modern tech stack in containerization, Kafka event streams, ETL using Informatica cloud, and APIs written in python and also partake in full cycle migration efforts from perl to python.   • Design, develop, test and implement robust and scalable applications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

*Experience you'll bring*

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good experience with software development experience using Agile practices and methodology.
  • Experience developing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

*Plus*

  • Experience with core Python using Object-oriented implementations and adhering to PEP-8 standards.
  • Strong sql understanding and ability to follow pl/sql blocks and procedures.
  • Experience with Kafka streaming.
  • Good understanding of API implementations and microservice architecture.
  • Experience with automated deployment pipelines.
  • Examples of passion projects or contributions to open-source projects.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted conversion from legacy stacks to python.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines.
  • Own complete development cycle including testing and release coordination.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow.
