Legal Operations & Technology Specialist

Thomson Reuters is seeking an exceptional Legal Operations & Technology Specialist to join our General Counsel's Office (GCO) and drive transformative change in our legal operations through advanced AI implementation and process optimization. This role will contribute to the GCO's transformation agenda by improving overall legal team workflow, with a focus on innovating and optimizing our processes, leveraging cutting-edge technology and AI solutions, including Thomson Reuters products, to enhance the delivery of legal services and drive business value. 

This opportunity offers a unique opportunity to transform internal legal operations using our own leading edge and proprietary products, while also engaging directly with Thomson Reuters's commercial, product and technology teams as we bring AI-driven solutions to our customers.

About the Rolel:

In this opportunity as Legal Operations & Technology Specialist, you will:

  • Examine existing processes and workflows and capture opportunities to make things simpler and automated. 
  • Drive the implementation, training and usage of technology and AI tools, including Thomson Reuters products, used by the General Counsel's Office. 
  • Assist with the development of systems, policies and processes required for maximum efficiency and consistency across the General Counsel's Office.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel's Office to develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and other knowledge-sharing resources.
  • Support change management strategies to train, encourage, and support the General Counsel's Office to evolve ways of working.
  • Gather and use data to derive insights about processes within the General Counsel's Office.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including across the General Counsel's Office, technology, business segments, product, engineering and other business leaders.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Legal Operations & Technology Specialist if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years' experience in the legal industry.
  • Excellent PC skills (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of Microsoft Teams and strong technology skills (in general) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrable experience implementing and/or working with core legal technology tooling such as document assembly / automation tools, matter management, eBilling, document management, and knowledge management is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write and present clearly to communicate software features to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, tech-enabled, fast-paced corporate legal department, with a spirit of continuous improvement. 
  • Able to work independently and part of a global team.
