About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE / DBA) with deep expertise in MariaDB/MySQL and a solid understanding of PostgreSQL.

Your mission will be to ensure our databases are reliable, performant, and resilient — especially when it comes to replication troubleshooting and tackling complex performance challenges.

In addition to being our database specialist, you'll have the opportunity to grow into a DevOps role. If you don't yet have strong DevOps experience, that's perfectly fine — we'll provide hands-on training, mentoring, and support. Over time, you'll contribute to infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and cloud operations alongside our DevOps engineers.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, including replication failures and performance bottlenecks.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and schema designs for reliability and scalability.
  • Ensure robust backup, recovery, and security strategies are in place.
  • Collaborate with developers to improve database usage patterns and performance.
  • Manage and monitor databases in cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Gradually take on DevOps responsibilities, including:
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Cloud resource provisioning and maintenance
Prerequisites
Requirements
  • Senior-level expertise with MariaDB/MySQL (administration, performance tuning, replication).
  • Experience troubleshooting replication, diagnosing query performance, and optimizing configurations.
  • Solid understanding of database design, indexing, and scaling strategies.
  • Hands-on experience managing production environments with high reliability requirements.
  • Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS.
  • English level B1 or higher (comfortable collaborating in an international team).
Experiences
Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL (operations, tuning, replication).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Scripting ability (Bash, Python).
  • Previous DevOps or SRE experience.
