Software Engineer, Risk and Compliance Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, TypeScript, etc.), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• Experience working with Product and Engineering teams, and developing large-scale systems with data processing or UX flows with users.
• Experience with full-stack development, programming, algorithms.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English to interact with local stakeholders in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in the definition, design, and development of risk and compliance products.

In this role, you will develop a new product within an organization that's already making a big impact on the company by keeping users safe and calculating risk and compliance indicators, among other things. You will have the opportunity to work on all parts of the stack and learn the main technologies available at Google, including how to process huge amounts of data in a reliable and efficient way. You will also work closely with our Product Management and UX teams. You will also focus on building infrastructure and solutions using GenAI.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities

• Establish and follow software development best practices and an exceptional engineering culture.
• Participate in the definition, design and development of the next generation of Alphabet's risk and compliance products.
• Work with both backend and frontend, learning the main technologies in Google's software development stack.
• Work closely with our UX team to ensure our products reflect product excellence and are accessible.
• Help build a welcoming and respectful team.
