Job Overview:

Invaio Sciences, founded by Flagship Pioneering, is a bio platform company accelerating the leap to nature-positive agriculture. The company builds on advances in human health and digital innovation to develop biological technologies for crop health, enabling farmers to both improve yields and use more natural crop health solutions.

Reporting into the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle in compliance with Brazilian accounting standards and tax regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise in BR GAAP (CPCs), a deep understanding of fiscal obligations, and experience with ERP systems and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all accounting operations, supporting both local and global management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare and review IRPK, CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ICMS, and ISS filings.

·     Monitor and implement changes from the Brazilian tax reform (IBS, CBS, IS).

·     Responsible for partnering with our 3rd Party Accountants who are responsible for all Brazil Tax Compliance and Reporting to ensure alignment with the broader business

·     Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including SPED and eSocial submissions.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

·     Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations.

·     Manage fixed assets, accruals, and payroll accounting.

·     Responsible for the Procure to Pay process

·     Responsible for Accounts Receivable Process from Order to Cash

·     Lead month-end and year-end close processes for Brazil, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

·     Act as the bridge between local Brazilian Accounting and US GAAP Accounting for our ERP

·     Support internal and external audits with complete documentation as needed

Currency & Treasury Management

·     Oversee foreign exchange transactions, ensuring compliance with Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN) regulations.

·     Monitor cash flow and manage payments in both BRL and foreign currencies.

·     Ensure proper documentation and reporting of cross-border transactions.

·     Partner with Controller to assess financial risks and implement controls to safeguard company assets.

·     Any other projects as needed

Qualifications:

·     Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

·     CRC certification (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) registration active.

·     Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior position

·     Strong experience with BR GAAP (CPCs) and working knowledge of US GAAP

·     Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

·     Must be proficient in all Brazilian tax compliance and reporting (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, COFINS, ISS, ICMS, IPI)

·     Strong knowledge of Brazilian tax system, currency regulations, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle-NetSuite)

·     Proficiency in Portuguese and English, both written and verbal communication

·     Demonstrated experience with identifying and implementing improvements in accounting processes and internal controls that led to functional optimization
