Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate on new product initiatives to understand legal impact, define compliance requirements, and establish appropriate compliance policies and controls to facilitate successful launch.
• Maintain a horizon view in order to detect and respond to new regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk; educate management and guide teams in the development of a risk-based and coordinated response across dependent teams.
• Promote a culture of compliance, proactively engaging with business teams to educate on compliance concerns, understand business objectives, and influence product design.
• Manage the day-to-day functions of the compliance program, inclusive of the submission of required regulatory reporting and oversight of business owned controls.
A day in the life
The Compliance Manager will engage strategically across business, legal, operations, and technical teams to influence product direction and design appropriate compliance controls. This key role will advise stakeholders on compliance implications of business decisions, while developing and maintaining comprehensive compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and controls to effectively mitigate risks.
The day-to-day activities will include guiding cross-functional teams on local and international regulatory compliance, delivering impactful training and communications to ensure employee compliance awareness, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulators, monitoring regulatory changes and their operational impact, conducting compliance testing and audits to address gaps, and supporting the Compliance Office in critical compliance initiatives. Leveraging data-driven insights to provide strategic recommendations is also a key element.
About the team
Risk and Compliance Solutions (RCS) is Amazon's Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance gatekeeper for payment entities and activities, protecting buyers, brands and selling partners while allowing the organization to scale safely.
RCS designs, builds and manages Compliance Programs at the second-line level ensuring i) regulated RCS entities are compliant with applicable requirements, laws and regulations, ii) Amazon secures and maintains regulated licenses required to operate and, iii) Amazon brands can deliver trusted and valued payment experiences.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of EU regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications, especially MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint at an advanced level
- CAMS certification
- Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience working in a multinational corporation and Fintech Industry
- Experience in implementing or improving compliance management systems
