We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher to join our thriving Prep School team at St Paul's School São Paulo. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality music education in line with the English National Curriculum, fostering a love of music in young learners and contributing to the wider cultural life of the school. Potential candidates should have the necessary educational qualifications as well as experience of working with children within the age range (6-11 years old). Creativity and a child centred approach are expected.

St. Paul's was founded in 1926 and was the first school in South America to receive accreditation from the UK government as a British School Oversees. Fully coeducational, with about 1,000 pupils, aged from 3 to 18, it is a school with history and tradition, but which embraces innovation, contemporary values and the latest in digital learning. Key Responsabilities:

  • Plan and deliver music lessons to Prep School students in accordance with the English National Curriculum.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Arts Department and Junior School to support cross-curricular initiatives and whole-school events.

  • Lead and develop choirs and ensembles, preparing students for performances and school productions.

  • Support and contribute to musical productions, concerts, and other performance opportunities throughout the academic year.

  • Assess and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.

  • Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and professional development activities.

Recruitment process

Shortlisted candidates will first have an online interview with our HR team. Those successful at this stage will be invited to an online interview with the Director of Visual and Performing Arts. The top candidates will then visit the school for a tour, a demo lesson with students, and an in-person interview with the Director and the Head of Junior School.
