We're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our team. You'll play a key role not just in delivering great code but also in leading and mentoring a pod of talented engineers. Our App consists of frontend-focused and backend-focused engineers who own the general interface and CRM functionality of our product suite and continuously improve our application's features.

For this position, you need previous experience and background developing a piece of a CRM, ERP, or relevant software. You'd be developing interfaces (both front and back) that perform a variety of day-to-day business activities by our users, the APIs that power these interfaces, and our generic CRM functionality. You will also lead by example, helping drive code quality, team collaboration, and timely project execution.

As an Aloware Team Lead, you'll work under the guidance of our CTO/co-founder and lead a product pod of engineers while remaining hands-on in the code.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance development culture.
• Participate in hiring decisions, onboarding, and career development of team members.
• Manage sprint planning and retrospectives, ensure proper task distribution, and remove blockers for your team.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on technical solutions.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality code and features.
• Represent your team in leadership meetings and contribute to process improvements across engineering.

Coding and Development:

• Develop and deliver complete user stories or bug fixes, as outlined by PMs/Product Owners.
• Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code tailored to each user story.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct comprehensive unit testing to ensure code quality.
• Ensure each piece of code is thoroughly tested to maintain high standards.

Peer Interaction and Code Review:

• Actively participate in and lead peer code reviews to enhance code quality and promote learning.
• Provide support and technical guidance to other team members, especially in areas of expertise.
• Foster a culture of shared learning and technical excellence.

Documentation:

• Write and maintain technical documentation, highlighting its importance.
• Inform about new or updated dependencies, create deployment manuals, and produce instructional videos for new tasks.

About You

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a software engineer working on a VueJS/PHP/MySQL/AWS stack.
• 2+ years experience integrating and implementing platforms through REST API framework, with big players including CPaaS Providers (Twilio), major CRMs (HubSpot, Zendesk, Salesforce), Billing providers (Chargebee, Stripe), and others.
• Experience working in the API layer with security, logging, throttling, and modifying requests and responses.
• Demonstrated experience working with VueJS or React is a must-have for this position. All our software engineers touch our UI at one point or another.
• Familiarity with diverse modern databases (Relational, NoSQL, etc.) and BI tools is advantageous.
• Background related to telecommunications, VOIP, digital messaging, chatbots, CRM, ticketing, helpdesk, or call center software as a service.
• 3+ years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams, including ownership of code quality, delivery, and team productivity.

For this role, you're expected to work within EST or PST business hours, regardless of your time zone.
