Senior Data Engineering Manager; Data Platform

As a Senior Data Engineering Manager on the Data Platform team, you will lead our mission to build and scale a modern data platform that supports analytics, regulatory reporting and AI-driven products. You will manage a team of Data Engineers, DataOps and Data Quality specialists, guiding the transformation of raw data into trusted, business-ready datasets that drive decision-making and innovation across the organization. Acting as both a strategic partner to the Head and a technical reference, you will define priorities, set direction and shape the evolution of a scalable, high-performance data infrastructure.

Beyond overseeing data workflows, ETL/ELT processes, and governance practices, you will be responsible for developing and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering growth, collaboration and accountability. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure the delivery of clean, reliable and accessible data, while cultivating a culture of automation, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a remote-first role with occasional in-person gatherings to strengthen team connection and collaboration.

Responsibilities and Attributions

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, DataOps, and Data Quality specialists, ensuring clarity of priorities and alignment with business objectives
• Partner with business, tech, product, analytics and data science stakeholders to deliver trusted, business-ready data that enables decision-making and innovation
• Guide the evolution of the company's data platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable and compliant with governance and regulatory standards
• Oversee the adoption and scaling of modern data technologies—such as AWS, Databricks, Spark, dbt, and Airflow, while ensuring adherence to data governance guidelines and best practices.
• Foster a culture of reliability, automation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team
• Ensure best practices in data observability, process, monitoring, quality, reconciliation and governance
• Foster a culture of reliability, automation, experimentation and accountability
• Support compliance and regulatory reporting requirements through high-quality data foundations

Requisites and Qualifications

• Strong track record in Data Platform, delivering business impact at scale
• Hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, Databricks and AWS (Big Data Stack)
• Experience leading and developing high-performing data engineering teams
• Knowledge of data observability, monitoring and quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, Datadog)
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to work in a global, distributed environment

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven data environments
• Experience with Data Mesh, domain-driven design, privacy and metadata/catalog solutions
• Previous experience in iGaming, betting, or other regulated industries is a strong plus
• Comfort in executive-level communication and decision influence
