The Buyer is responsible for ensuring the procurement of goods and services for specific projects, including international sourcing and import activities. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, selecting and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials and services.
This position reports to the Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Manager LATAM and is part of the Supply Chain team located in Diadema-SP and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Procurement Process Knowledge: understanding of purchasing cycles, documentation, and compliance requirements. Issue purchase orders (POs), follow up with local and international suppliers, and input data into global systems. Monitor deadlines and deliveries, ensuring operational excellence for projects.
- Oversees deadlines and deliveries, ensuring operational excellence in projects. Supports import activities and document management according to departmental guidelines, and participates in meetings with internal areas such as PMO, Engineering, and Quality to align demands.
- Provides administrative and operational support to the procurement team, collaborating with the accounting department to resolve invoice discrepancies. Previous experience as a foreign trade analyst and in directly managing import operations, with a focus on industrial commodities such as valves, skids, and pumps.
- Able to identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet business needs and support strategic sourcing initiatives. Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple procurement tasks and assists in commercial negotiations and contract terms.
- Committed to integrity, transparency, and compliance with procurement policies. Values collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, maintaining accuracy in data entry, order tracking, and document management.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in: Supply Chain, Business Administration, Foreign Trade, Logistics, or related fields.
- Prior experience, minimum of 3 years of experience or a related role and knowledge of procurement of direct materials in an industrial or project environment.
- Functional intermediate English skills, capable of expressing oneself, handling emails, reading documents, and participating in meetings.
- Basic knowledge of import processes and international trade regulations and customs procedures, proficiency import/export documentation.
- Proactive profile, with a sense of responsibility and organization, capable of handling multiple demands and deadlines and communication and negotiation skills to deal with suppliers from different countries.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Communication & Negotiation: clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to support negotiations and maintain supplier relationships.
