Job Information

  • Ref: 189722
  • Student: Adult learner
  • Location: Virtual (student currently in Tokyo, Japan; relocating to Brazil in October)
  • Preferred start date: ASAP
  • Lesson format: Online via Zoom

Details

  • Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, early morning or late night Sao Paulo time.
  • Lesson Frequency: 2 times per week
  • Lesson Duration: 1 hour each
  • Current level: Complete beginner
  • Native/other languages: Japanese

  • Goals:

  • Develop daily communication skills

  • Gain confidence using English for adaptation in Brazil
  • Build vocabulary for everyday situations (shopping, food, lifestyle, etc.)
  • Interests: Brazilian culture, shopping malls, food, dogs, lifestyle

Responsibilities

  • Provide beginner-friendly English lessons with Japanese language support when needed
  • Focus on building communication skills for daily life and adaptation abroad
  • Incorporate cultural elements relevant to Brazil to prepare the student for relocation
  • Create engaging lessons based on student's personal interests

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in Japanese required
  • Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, linguistics, or related field
  • Experience teaching beginners and supporting cross-cultural adaptation
  • Ability to create interactive, culturally relevant lessons
