Overview

Vintage Stone Capital is a private investment firm dedicated to partnering with exceptional businesses in the Industrial Services, Waste Management, and Logistics space. We differentiate ourselves through a proactive, proprietary sourcing model. We do not wait for auctions; we build relationships directly with founders and operators.

We are seeking a Head of Business Development to drive our sourcing strategy. This is a "Player-Coach" role. We are looking for a high-performing executive who will lead the business development function but remains, at their core, a deal hunter.

You will be responsible for managing the business development team and systems, but your primary mandate is to lead by example: sourcing off-market opportunities, opening doors with business owners, and converting conversations into executed Letters of Intent (LOIs).

Direct Sourcing & Market Engagement (70%)

Execute the Hunt: You will be personally responsible for a dedicated volume of outbound activity. This includes direct outreach to CEOs, networking with key intermediaries, and attending industry conferences.

High-Level Deal Qualification: You will act as the first line of defense for the Investment Committee. You must rigorously filter opportunities, assessing financial viability (EBITDA, margins, growth) and strategic fit before a deal enters the pipeline.

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain high-value relationships with "Centers of Influence" (wealth managers, attorneys, boutique brokers) to ensure Vintage Stone Capital secures "first look" access to quality assets.

Leadership & Team Development (30%)

Lead from the Front: Manage and mentor the business development team (Associates/Analysts). Your leadership style should be demonstrated through action. You will show the team how to pitch, how to handle objections, and how to close meetings.

Pipeline Accountability: Oversee the firm's CRM and deal tracking infrastructure. You are responsible for the integrity of the data and for holding the team accountable to weekly KPIs and conversion metrics.

Strategy Optimization: Continuously refine the firm's sourcing thesis and outreach messaging based on real-time market feedback.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a seasoned investment professional or business development executive who refuses to sit on the sidelines. You understand that the best leaders in private equity are those who stay closest to the market. You possess the polish to represent the firm to a retiring founder and the grit to grind through a list of prospects alongside your team.

Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years of experience in Private Equity Business Development, Investment Banking, or complex B2B Enterprise Sales

Track Record: A verifiable history of sourcing and facilitating the closing of transactions in the industrial services space

Hybrid Skillset: You are comfortable toggling between high-level strategy and high-volume execution. You do not view "cold outreach" as below your pay grade

Financial Acumen: Strong working knowledge of financial statements and deal mechanics. You can articulate valuation expectations and deal structures with credibility

Communication: World-class verbal and written communication skills. You operate with high emotional intelligence and professional gravity
