Senior Automation QA Engineer

Location: São Paulo, Brazil

Contract | Full-Time Hours

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. CST – 5:00 p.m. CST

Strong verbal & written English required

Role Overview

We are looking for a
Senior Automation QA Engineer
to architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation solutions. You will ensure robust test coverage across
UI, API, databases, and integrations
, leveraging advanced testing methodologies and cloud platforms. This role requires strong technical leadership, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to
drive continuous improvement
in automation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design & maintain automation frameworks with
    Playwright
    (UI + API).
  • Develop test scripts using
    JavaScript, TypeScript,
    .
  • Apply
    BDD, TDD, and Data-Driven
    testing across projects.
  • Ensure test coverage for APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and integrations.
  • Architect automation aligned with
    OOP & framework best practices
    .
  • Integrate automation with
    CI/CD pipelines
    (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Execute & optimize tests in
    AWS/Azure cloud environments
    .
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce QA best practices.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in test automation, ideally at enterprise scale.
  • Expert in
    JavaScript/TypeScript
    and
    Playwright (UI + API automation)
    .
  • Hands-on with
    automation frameworks
    .
  • Proficient in
    SQL & NoSQL
    querying/validation.
  • Strong knowledge of
    OOP design patterns
    (Page Object Model, Factory Pattern, etc.).
  • API automation (REST, GraphQL) with Playwright.
  • Familiarity with
    Maven/Gradle build tools
    .
  • Cloud expertise:
    AWS & Azure
    .
  • CI/CD integration skills.
  • Strong Git/GitHub experience.

Preferred Skills

  • JDBC database connectivity.
  • Performance testing & monitoring tools.
  • Docker/Kubernetes familiarity.
  • Security/compliance testing.
  • Open-source QA/automation contributions.
