Position summary
As a Back Office Representative, you'll help keep our billing and insurance operations running smoothly. This role isn't just about billing—you might also be ordering contact lenses, handling data entry, or managing our supply inventory. Whether you're verifying insurance, answering billing questions through chat, or helping with everyday tasks, your work will make things easier for both patients and providers.
Key responsibilities
- Insurance verification: Confirm patients' insurance coverage details, verify eligibility, and enter data with precision.
- Medical billing: Review claims, prepare invoices, and ensure billing is accurate and smooth.
- Insurance claims submission: Process and submit insurance claims efficiently to facilitate quicker reimbursements.
- Data entry and documentation: Accurately record patient information, insurance details, and billing codes.
- Chat support: Provide real-time assistance through chat, answering inquiries about billing, insurance claims, and account-related topics with a friendly approach.
- Collaboration and communication: Work closely with team members, sharing updates and escalating issues when necessary.
- Problem solving: Address issues patiently and proactively, adopting a solutions-focused mindset and escalating complex matters appropriately.
What you'll bring to the team
- Experience in medical billing or insurance verification – If you've worked in healthcare, insurance, or billing before, that's a huge plus
- An eye for detail – You're someone who catches the small stuff because you know accuracy matters.
- Comfort with tech – You're at ease with online tools, billing software, and chat platforms, and you pick up new systems quickly.
- Great communication skills – You're friendly, clear, and can explain complex info in a way anyone can understand.
- A problem-solving mindset – You're proactive, positive, and love tackling challenges as they come.
- Empathy and patience – You bring a compassionate, patient-centered approach to sensitive healthcare topics.
