About Eliis

We are looking for an experienced Applied Geoscientist to join our operations allocated in a strategic client in Brazil, focusing on strengthening data management and quality of our flagship software, PaleoScan.

Founded in 2007, Eliis is a company of over 100 professionals with a strong international presence. We are recognized as a leading player in the geoscience software industry, delivering innovative and high-performance solutions to support major energy companies in addressing complex subsurface challenges. Driven by our expertise and commitment to innovation, we aim to provide our clients with advanced tools that enable informed decision-making and push the boundaries of subsurface interpretation. As part of our ongoing efforts to support the energy transition, we are also developing dedicated assessment solutions for the underground storage of CO₂.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop technical solutions to enhance data quality and data management of seismic and well data, commonly using programming skills (Python, Javascript or C++).
  • Implement machine learning models (data processing, feature engineering, statistical analysis, parameter tuning, model evaluation and maintenance).
  • Provide clear technical instructions to other software developers and maintain good development practices.
  • Write technical reports to document monthly activities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for clients and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the development team in Montpellier, France, maintaining regular communication in English.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geography, Oceanography or Physics (MSc or DSc degrees are a plus).
  • 3 years of experience in data management, software development or geoscience roles (experience in seismic/well data management is a plus).
  • Good knowledge in programming (Python and/or Javascript, and/or C++).
  • Previous experience with Machine Learning solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Algorithmic thinking and ability to propose and develop efficient workflows.
  • Attention to detail: ability to write and review documentation, technical reports and proposals.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and collaborate with local and remote teams.
