Sr. Enterprise Systems Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer. The individual in this position will play a key role in the overall design, implementation, and management of ABC's systems deployed within public cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GSuite), co-located data centers, and corporate offices. This position will also be responsible for the creation and upkeep of documentation to include strict adherence to ABC's change control processes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Azure/AWS/GSuite tenant engineering, management, support and administration.
• Azure/AWS/GSuite security posture improvement and hardening.
• Azure and internal MFA solution design and administration.
• Implement and manage cloud (Azure/AWS/GSuite) components such as Azure AD, PowerBI Gateway, App Gateway, VMS, Vnet, Load Balancers, Azure Kubernetes, Azure Registry, Azure Storage, Network Security Groups, Site to Site VPN, and Billing/Access Control.
• Enterprise Application deployment and administration.
• Participate in standards and compliance audit processes to help ensure that ABC is compliant with all applicable laws and industry regulations as well as overall best practices.
• Assists in the implementation of ABC's comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery programs.
• VMware VDI workstation image deployment and pool performance optimization
• High level knowledge of SFTP/EFT Managed File Transfer Systems (Design and Administration)
• Support, implement, and enforce ABC security policies and vulnerability remediation efforts
• Provide technical support to users with various levels of IT knowledge and competence
• Takes an active role in evaluating modern technologies to ensure that they align with company business objectives
• Contribute to current installation, design, and configuration procedures and documentation
• Develops project plans, work assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned projects and communicates this information to senior management and the business unit
• Automate monitoring and other workflow processes to increase efficiency for projects and operations.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis via SCCM and other endpoint management tools.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• VM/Physical and file level backup/snapshot recoveries when needed.
• On-premise to Cloud migrations (VMWare 2 Azure or AWS)
• Provide technical leadership and mentor other team members.
• Adhere to ABC Incident/Change/Problem management policies and associated systems.
• Work within the physical data center environments for racking/stacking, cabling, maintaining, and decommissioning hardware.
• Use effective critical thinking skills that will allow ABC to quickly recover from downtime, solve issues, and provide root cause analyses.
• Work closely with other departments/organizations to analyze requirements, solve problems, and collaborate on projects.
• Work in a highly effective and team centric environment and must be able to lead a project or process with little to no supervision.
• Participate in the on-call rotation; some after hours and weekend work may be required.
• Minimal travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of proven enterprise systems administration skills or 10 years of proven enterprise systems administration skills.
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud technologies
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior and intermediate team members
• 7+ years of Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server
• 5+ years of administering virtualization and VDI technologies (Cisco UCS and VMWare ESX/Horizon)
• 5+ years of working in a physical data center environment.
• 5+ years of managing and understanding DNS, DHCP, DFS, TCP/IP, Certificate Services, Group Policy, and IIS.
• 3+ years of cloud management for Azure/AWS/GSuite, Azure AD, and Office 365.
• 3+ years of managing collaboration tools such as Teams, Zoom, and Slack
• 3+ years of managing storage arrays and backup platforms (Pure, Cohesity, ZFS)
• 3+ years of progressive experience with scripting and task automation utilizing Powershell or Python; strong understanding of Azure cloud technologies
• 3+ years of experience with PCI-DSS.
• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Azure/AWS/GSuite, or other industry relevant certifications

BONUS SKILLS:

• Basic Linux system administration capabilities
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Basic understanding of container systems (Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, F5 Load Balancing, NLB, DAG)
• Experience with ticketing systems ( Jira)
• Experience with monitoring solutions (Nagios, AppDynamics)
• Cisco UCS and or other Unified Computing Systems administration experience
• Cloud based email security, continuity, and archival system administration
• Advanced scripting and automation skills (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Powershell, CloudCLI, Jenkins)
• Microsoft Graph API Endpoint Development and Administration
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to explain complicated or technical information to non-technical audiences
• Ability to lead projects and collaborate with others in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task and change direction quickly
• Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to make sound decisions
