UNHCR is strengthening its data ecosystem in Brazil to ensure timely, accurate, and ethical use of information that supports protection, registration, and solutions for forcibly displaced populations. This
onsite, full-time, 6-month national assignment
(with possible extension) is based in
Brasília
and embedded in the
Data, Identity Management and Analysis (DIMA)
unit, working closely with senior management, technical teams, partners, and government counterparts. If you thrive at the intersection of data engineering, governance, and humanitarian impact—this is for you.

What You'll Do (Hands-on & High Impact)

  • Manage and curate UNHCR Brazil data across
    PRIMES
    ,
    RIDL
    , and Microsoft Fabric environments
  • Design and maintain
    ETL pipelines
    and data integrations from multiple sources
  • Ensure data governance, documentation, validation, and quality assurance
  • Build and maintain reporting platforms for results monitoring and M&E alignment
  • Support statistical analysis and innovative data solutions for operations
  • Deliver training and technical support to staff and partners
  • Provide ad-hoc support to registration systems (e.g.,
    proGres
    ) when required

Apply If You Bring

  • 7+ years
    of experience in data management, engineering, or analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in
    Data Science, Engineering, or IT
  • Strong skills in
    Python, SQL, APIs, data modeling, cloud platforms, ETL
  • Solid grasp of data lifecycle, governance, and collection methodologies
  • Experience working with partners in complex or humanitarian settings (asset)
  • Languages:
    Portuguese (Fluent), English (Fluent), Spanish (Desirable)
