Manager - Relay Operations

Há 5 dias

Greater São Paulo Area, Brasil Amazon Tempo inteiro R$104.000 - R$312.000 por ano

Description
This role requires a strong sense of ownership to lead relay operations in Brazil. The ideal candidate should be an experienced people leader with a bias for action and the ability to manage multiple shifts, establishing effective mechanisms to monitor operations 24/7.

This person will be responsible for building a reliable transportation network across Brazil, minimizing in-transit delays, and developing contingency plans to protect customer promises. The ability to motivate and coach a team of 30, maintain strong attention to detail, and drive continuous improvement is essential.

This role also demands strong communication skills to engage with senior leaders and prioritize business-critical requirements. A solid understanding of Brazil's transportation network, experience leading large teams, and a track record of process stabilization and stakeholder engagement are key to success in this position.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build a reliable transportation network by developing mechanisms that ensure 24/7 network health monitoring, including vehicle tracking and tracing, capacity procurement, proactive delay detection, stakeholder mobilization, rescue plan development, and contingency planning for both anticipated and unanticipated network issues.
  • Own key metrics such as Linehaul to DEA and On-Time Performance. Also, be accountable for team fitness function metrics such as ticket SLA adherence.
  • Work closely with ATS Carrier Managers and the TOM team to drive carrier performance.
  • Use expertise and judgment to identify the right stakeholders, set appropriate goals, inform decision-making, and design long-term solutions for transportation network operations.
  • Analyze and enhance network design in partnership with ATS to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure relevant business metrics are prepared, and actively participate in regular operations calls, business reviews (MBRs), and strategic planning documents for the ATS area.

About The Team
Relay Operations (RO) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across Amazon's transportation network. It ensures hassle-free and timely pickup and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FCs), and from FCs to carrier hubs.

In the event of any exceptions, RO steps in to resolve issues and keeps all stakeholders informed throughout the process. In addition to this tactical problem-solving, RO is also responsible for identifying trends in network exceptions and driving process improvements—either through automation or by proposing changes to streamline operations.

This strategic aspect involves continuous network monitoring and in-depth data analysis. Overall, RO plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Amazon's transportation network, directly impacting Amazon's ability to deliver on customer promises.
