About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Information Security Specialist (ISM) to take a key role in building and maturing the information security function in Brazil. This position will focus on defining, implementing, and operating security controls and full compliance with local regulations, including LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados).

Location: São Paulo, Brazil

Type: Full-time (on-site only)

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the information security strategy, roadmap, and target architecture, aligned with business objectives and global security standards.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls across systems and departments within the Brazilian operation.
  • Support security budgeting and planning, ensuring efficient use of resources for security initiatives.
  • Perform and coordinate security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing activities.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with LGPD and applicable international security and industry standards.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Implement and maintain controls for network, cloud (AWS/Azure), application, and data security (DLP, encryption, access control).
  • Operate and improve security tooling and platforms (SIEM, EDR, firewalls), ensuring effective monitoring and response.
  • Work closely with IT Operations and Engineering teams to embed security practices into the SDLC (SecDevOps).
  • Contribute to the delivery of security awareness and compliance training for employees in Brazil.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience in Information Security within technology or regulated industries (iGaming, Finance, E-commerce).
  • Strong practical knowledge of LGPD and experience supporting or maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Solid experience implementing and operating security frameworks and controls (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or similar).
  • Background in technical security domains (cloud, infrastructure, application, and data security).
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Fluency in Portuguese (native or near-native) and professional English for collaboration with global teams.

Nice to Have

  • Industry-recognized certifications (CISSP, CISM, C-CISO, or equivalent).
  • Experience securing cloud-native environments (AWS / Azure).
  • Familiarity with the Brazilian regulatory landscape beyond LGPD (e.g., finance- or gaming-related regulations).
  • Previous experience acting as a technical lead or mentor (formal people management not required).
