As we expand our specialist lines in Brazil, we are looking for a technically sound and commercially savvy Underwriter to help shape the future of our Property portfolio.

The Role

We are seeking a talented mid-level Underwriter to join our dynamic team and work within our Property
insurance and facultative reinsurance operations
. In this role, you will underwrite risks which may be placed exclusively under our own Net & Treaty Capacity , Binder or may be entirely or partially supported by facultative reinsurance purchased on the spot market. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, underwrite, and price insurance risks in line with DUAL's underwriting appetite and profitability objectives
  • Structure and negotiate facultative reinsurance placements as needed
  • Engage effectively with brokers, clients, and reinsurers to deliver a seamless and informed underwriting experience
  • Support portfolio growth through strategic initiatives and informed decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Engineering (any discipline), completed or in the final year of university (mandatory)
  • 2–5 years of experience underwriting Property, All Risks and/or Onshore Energy insurance, possibly Miscellaneous
  • Familiarity with facultative reinsurance and risk-sharing mechanisms
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced English (mandatory); Spanish is a strong advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercial acumen and a collaborative, high-performance mindset
