EOS Space Systems provides solution-driven products and services in the defence, government, and commercial sectors. Specialising in advanced high energy laser and electro-optical capabilities, we offer space object tracking, characterisation, identification, optical communications, and laser directed energy systems.

We are seeking a Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) Technical Officer to join our team at the Mt. Stromlo (Canberra) SLR Facility. The role involves supporting all operational and maintenance activities associated with obtaining SLR data and other ancillary data at the Mt Stromlo facility, as well as contributing to the development of the associated software and data management systems.

Job Description

Primary Duties

  • Leading operational activities to ensure a high level of data quality and productivity with minimal supervision.
  • Occasionally working independently at night, including remote work.
  • Providing technical troubleshooting.
    • Assisting with preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment and facility.
  • Providing customer technical support.
    • Providing routine reporting and data management to clients.
  • Supporting development, upgrades, and installation of system facilities applications and procedures.
Desired Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience with operational aspects of technical and complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate processes.
  • Basic to intermediate software development skills.
  • Ability to write technical documents.
