Engineer II, Senior

Job Description
Leads and performs engineering design review and analysis assignments typically involving complex and technically challenging projects. These projects require the application of advanced engineering knowledge and practices. The incumbent will demonstrate a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and methods and provide technical guidance to Engineer I and Engineer II positions when necessary.

What You Will Do:

• With minimal or no supervision performs detailed engineering review of plans, as assigned, for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments.
• Perform and lead detailed mechanical engineering reviews for compliance with Brazilian NRs, international standards, and ABS Group's policies.
• Execute advanced Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessments for piping systems, pressure vessels, pressure relief valves, marine, offshore assets, and refinery facilities, including integration of API 579 Fitness-for-Service principles.
• Conduct pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II and assist in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies for complex systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in problem-solving and design conflicts.
• Develop high-quality technical reports and communicate project outcomes effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to identify operational risks and propose optimization plans for mechanical systems designs.
• Stay up-to-date with technical developments and evolving regulatory standards to ensure compliance and best practices are maintained.
• Ensure processes adhere to ABS Group Quality standards and maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering required; a Master's degree is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply fundamental classification and quality concepts, practices and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge and application of mechanical engineering, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies, and API 579 Fitness-for-Service analysis.
• Advanced expertise in pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II.
• Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Track record of managing and leading complex engineering projects within marine, offshore, and refinery environments.
• Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills for a wide range of engineering challenges.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary for client interaction and technical reporting.
• Ability to mentor mid-level engineers and collaborate across functional discipline.

Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to a Senior or Manager level position or above.
