Engine Room Operator

*JOB DESCRIPTION*
Responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the main power plant onboard and hull specific equipment.

*RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for/ensure:*

• Safe and efficient execution of operation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Continuous monitoring of power consumption and distribution.
• All drills and checks are conducted as required.
• All applicable reports and logs, as required by the direct supervisor, are maintained.
• The engine room is maintained tidy and in good working order.
• Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of shift.
• Other duties are performed as required and/or directed by the direct supervisor.

Equipment & Systems
*Assist With:*

• Ensuring operational preparedness of all safety and emergency equipment.
• Ensuring all relevant equipment is maintained and maintenance is recorded.
• Maintaining sufficient stock of spare parts and materials required.

*QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications*

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid: CIR, CBSP, THUET, NR 13 and other certificates
• ERO 2nd: Minimum one (1) year as ERO 3rd, and three (3) years overall experience as Officer of the Watch on DP vessels or drilling rigs.
• ERO 3rd: Minimum one (1) year as Officer of the Watch on DP vessels or drilling rigs.
• Engineer Officer Certificate Class 4, or a certificate of similar standing (STCW III/1).
