Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.

Technical Focus

To hire an incumbent specialized in design strategy and visual communication to carry out diagnosis and specialized research on the needs and potential of visual communication of the Executive Secretariat of the MDA, with the objective of proposing strategies and solutions to improve the production of institutional graphic and digital materials, ensuring greater reach and impact of public policies aimed at the development of agriculture family and agroecology.

Tasks and Responsibilities

In close collaboration with Office of Communications (OCC) branches and appropriate Communication focal points, the incumbent will:

• Survey and analyze the materials and visual tools currently used by the Executive Secretariat;

• Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to assess perceptions of the visual identity;

• Analyze the coherence and consistency in the application of the visual identity across different communication channels;

• Elaborate a detailed diagnosis of the current state of the Executive Secretariat's visual identity;

• Develop guidelines to strengthen or reformulate the institutional visual identity;

• Plan and deliver technical training sessions for civil servants on best practices for using the visual identity;

• Create a practical guide on good institutional design practices, including examples and application instructions;

• Prepare a final report to evaluate the results, including an impact analysis and recommendations for ongoing improvements.

FAO Standards and guidelines:

• Liaison with OCC will be maintained, either directly or through an agreed focal point/coordinator, to ensure compliance with OCC standards, aligned messaging, and appropriate review and clearance processes.

Minimum Requirements


• University degree in Applied Social Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in institutional design, visual identity or creation of graphic or digital materials.

• Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;

• National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit.
