Senior Cloud Consultant

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Container Infrastructure Consultant to join us in São Paulo.

In this role, you will create possibilities, solve problems, and establish working relationships with our customers. You will help explain the benefits of Red Hat cloud solutions to our customers.

You'll gain an understanding of our customers' infrastructures and business needs. As a Consultant, you will work closely with customers on various specific initiatives including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Red Hat related cloud and container solutions, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Ansible Automation Platform and Kubernetes based technologies. You'll need to have excellent technical abilities and solid communication and customer-facing skills. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential.

What you will do:

• Routinely assess, design, and implement Red Hat's core offerings, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage (Ceph and ODF) and Kubernetes based technologies.
• Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system resilience
• Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, cloud storage, and software-defined networks
• Serve as a subject matter expert on site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of complex open source solutions
• Adapt to changing customer requirements
• Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner
• Deliver quality results both on-site and post-engagement that are on time and within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation
• Participate in sales and proposal presentations as needed in addition to completing ongoing team account activities

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in computer science, engineering or MBA is a plus
• 3+ years of experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative
• 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Docker or any other Container and PaaS related technologies
• 2+ years of scripting or programming experience
• Knowledge of system management, including installation, custom channels, deploying virtualized systems, basic client-based security, repositories, and creating core builds
• Automation experience using basic Linux programming in automation language like: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Python, or shell; excellent shell scripting abilities in Bash.
• Experience creating high availability clusters, understanding key issues when implementing cluster solutions for customers, and creating and managing file systems
• Knowledge of a variety of virtualization and cloud technologies, of setting up virtual environments using host and guest, and of migrating from physical to virtual environments
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
• Fluency in English

The following are considered a plus:

• Proven experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Ansible Automation Platform and any other Red Hat products.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, including Agile (e.g. Scrum), Waterfall, and Incremental
• Fluency in Spanish.
