Transform Businesses through TechnologyAbout the OpportunityOur team is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our Billing Engineering team.This critical group powers internal and external billing services, including customer onboarding, subscription management, payments, provisioning, and integrations with enterprise systems.The team works in a modern environment built primarily in Golang, using Kafka, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL at scale.You'll be part of a collaborative team with additional developers supporting adjacent projects.Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain Golang-based microservices for our billing systems.Develop and integrate RESTful APIs that interface with external financial and operational systems.Work with event-driven systems and streaming architectures using Kafka.Manage containerized deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to deliver new features and maintain operational excellence.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across distributed systems.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions.Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and security.Required Skills and Qualifications5+ years of professional backend development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Golang (or proven ability to quickly ramp up).Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and deployment.Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka or similar).Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple stakeholders.Nice to Have SkillsExperience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle, Workday, Anaplan, or NetSuite.Familiarity with API standards and tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth, JWT).Exposure to Temporal or similar orchestration tools.Knowledge of distributed systems, security best practices, and observability.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Possession for building reliable, scalable, and user-centric systems at global scale.We ensure candidate privacy in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
