The Data Platform Team is responsible for building and maintaining system components that pave the way for data engineers and analysts to deliver their business objectives.
This team leverages open-source software, uses cloud infrastructure and services, and builds software to accomplish its mission.People on this team have different technical backgrounds, such as software engineering, systems administration (Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure and services, data analysis, and data governance.This is an established team with a strong culture that expects collaboration, humbleness, accountability, empathy, and a sense of humor.Some ongoing and future projectsMigrate existing data lake tables to Apache IcebergAutoscale Trino for data transformation pipelinesCreating a GitHub App to manage table schemas with data contracts (GitOps + DataOps)Optimize data lake tables for existing queries with statistics collection and file rewritesYOUR IMPACTAdvocate for improvements in software quality, security, and performanceEmbrace the DataOps mindset to streamline and optimize repetitive tasksCollaborate with Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to drive efficiencies for their workProvide tooling that improves the product development process and prevents failuresEnsure that knowledge is shared effectively with internal documentation and personal interactionLive the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues.
Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life balance.Who You AreBS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experienceSolid experience with Python, Java, or similarSolid understanding of relational databases fundamentals and solid SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred)Familiarity with Kafka, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ (Kafka preferred)Proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane (Kubernetes experience desired)Experience with distributed systems and data-intensive applicationsKnowledge of analytical data warehousesGenuine interest in big data applications and their technology trendsWe recognize that individuals approach job applications differently.
