Job Title: Software EngineerLocation: Brazil (Remote)Start date: ImmediateWe are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in Java distributed systems and stream-based processing to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and operate backend services that handle high-throughput workloads, integrate with cloud platforms, and support business-critical applicationsThis role also involves working with NodeJS services, CI/CD pipelines, and modern infrastructure tooling, including Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, AWS, and GCPResponsibilities IncludeThis is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, includingDesign, implement, and maintain distributed backend services using Java and Node.jsBuild and optimize message-driven architectures and data pipelines using Apache KafkaDevelop scalable, resilient APIs and backend servicesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practicesDeploy monitor and support applications running on Kubernetes across cloud environmentsWork closely with architects and product teams to design system components and integrationsParticipate in code reviews, system design discussions, and operational readiness effortsTroubleshoot production issues across services and infrastructurePrototyping of new technologies to reduce cost and increase engineering velocityQualities Experience Were SeekingWe believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience to be successful in this roleA BS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required5 years of software engineering experienceStrong Java experience in backend or distributed systems environmentsHands-on experience with Kafka producers, consumers, partitions, topics, offsets, stream processing, etcProficiency in Node.js for backend application developmentExperience deploying and maintaining services running in KubernetesFamiliarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CDHands-on experience with AWS and or GCP cloud platformsSolid understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and microservices principlesExperience working with MongoDB and PostgreSQL schema design, performance considerations, migrationsStrong debugging, problem-solving solving and communication skillsExcellent problem-solving solving critical thinking, and communication skillsAbility to work within a distributed teamNice to haveVOD Streaming experienceExperience with React, basic frontend integration, work context management UI componentsExposure to infrastructure as code tools, Terraform, Helm etcMonitoring observability tools: Datadog, NewRelic
