The BootStack team designs and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure, working with technologies like Kubernetes and OpenStack.Location: This is a globally remote role.Responsibilities include:Managing a growing engineering team to optimize development and operations quality and velocityMeasuring and improving team health indicatorsImplementing disciplined engineering and operational processesRepresenting the team with stakeholders, customers, and external groupsFocusing the team on priorities, milestones, and deliverablesEnsuring service level agreements are met for global customer deploymentsDelivering quality managed services consistently and timelyCandidate requirements:Bachelor's degree in a technology field or equivalentProven experience in software delivery (Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar) and/or managing operations teamsExperience with OpenStack and Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred)Strong testing and code quality commitmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with Agile methodologies and managing distributed teamsTechnical understanding of complex distributed systemsKnowledge of cloud topologies and technologiesWillingness to travel (~20%) for team and customer meetingsWhat we offer:Distributed work environment with biannual in-person team sprintsAnnual learning and development budget of USD 2,000Regular compensation reviews and performance-based bonusesAdditional benefits aligned with our values, including leave, wellness programs, and travel opportunitiesAbout Canonical: Canonical pioneers in open source, publishing Ubuntu, a key platform for AI, IoT, and cloud.
