About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced and innovative Head of Social Media to lead the social strategy for our global portfolio of sports websites.
This is a dream opportunity for a sports enthusiast with a deep understanding of how to drive engagement, build brand personality, and lead high-performing social teams.As the driving force behind our social presence, you will define the voice and tone of multiple sports brands, shape strategies for both traditional and emerging platforms, and play a key role in expanding our global reach.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & ExecutionDesign and lead effective organic social media strategies across various platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)Build brand-specific social media identities, ensuring each site reflects its unique niche, voice, and personalityIdentify and capitalise on emerging platforms (Telegram, Reddit, WhatsApp) to grow audience engagementLeadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor a growing team of social media managers and specialistsFoster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and data-informed decision-makingImplement tools and workflows to optimise social media production and performancePerformance & GrowthDefine and track KPIs for engagement, referral traffic, community growth, and brand impactLeverage analytics to evaluate campaign success and continuously improve performanceBuild vibrant fan communities rooted in authentic sports content and digital storytelling Ideal Candidate ProfileProven success growing social presence for sports brands across international marketsDeep understanding of how social media drives referral traffic to editorial or content-driven websitesEstablished fundamentals on managing remote, multicultural teams across multiple time zonesStrong editorial judgment and instinct for what sports fans want in 2025Familiarity with a variety of social media tools and publishing technologiesFluent in English (professional level); additional languages (especially Portuguese or Spanish) are a plusPassion for sports and a knack for translating that into digital community-building KPIs You'll OwnGrowth in referral traffic from social to our websitesEngagement and reach across all social handlesFollower/clout growth per brand channelCommunity strength and quality of fan interactionsDevelopment of consistent and impactful brand identities across the portfolio Why Join Us?
