Job Opportunity:The role entails building strategic business relationships to source current and future M&A opportunities.This includes forming relationships with software company decision makers, M&A advisors, and private equity/venture capital professionals.Success in this role is defined by building meaningful relationships leading to acquisitions of software companies.The process typically takes multiple years, requiring measurable outcomes, continuous value-add through M&A conversations, and high-quality market research.Main Responsibilities:Develop and manage an M&A pipeline through a CRM platform and create market maps to build strong relationships in assigned software industry verticals.Meet and exceed monthly M&A targets, including meaningful contacts and other measurable M&A sourcing KPIs.Work autonomously and with M&A leadership to qualify M&A opportunities efficiently.Ensure the lead database is allocated accurately within portfolio verticals.Effectively qualify opportunities at the top-end of the acquisition funnel to maintain focus for Portfolio Managers.Requirements:At least 3+ years of experience in Business Development/Sales or client-facing M&A/finance roles.A clear interest in developing long-term relationships with prospects as a career trajectory in software investing.Previous high-performance in Business Development, winning in an autonomous role, or prior success outside professional BD experience.Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to speak with CEOs, M&A advisors, and corporate development professionals.Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work variable hours.Extraordinary work ethic and proactive approach with a sense of urgency.
