This allows Leidos to best serve our localized utility customer.As a Lead Distribution Engineer, You Can Expect ToLead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis; Work may include Make Ready projects and/or capital/ reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projectsReview engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program workPerform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client prioritiesInteract directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basisProvide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applicationsBe comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages; Candidates should posess a valid US Driver's licenseWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements)4+ years of relevant experience working electric distribution projects in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utilityBachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution; Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific bachelor's degreeExperience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)Experience with engineering design quality controlFamiliarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysisAbility to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)Willingness to perform both field and office work; Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion; The role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packagesCandidates should possess valid U.S. driver's licensePreferred QualificationsPrevious QAQC experienceExperience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIACDemonstrated history of Customer InteractionProven experience and proficiency with Make Ready projects for electric utiltiesPrior Leadership experience is preferredProfessional Attributes that will help you succeed in this role:Strong communication skills, written and interpersonal communications skills and supporting of customer advocacyCollaborative and inclusive of individuals of diverse backgrounds and geographic locationsPositive attitudeAbility to work with limited supervisionProfessional dress and demeanorAttention to detail & Highly organizedExcellent time managementAt Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
