You will be responsible for building and evolving the engineering team structure, nurturing a culture of ownership and innovation, and guiding technical execution to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital solutions.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams—including design, strategy, and client partners—you'll help shape project success from early discovery through launch.
Your leadership will empower engineers to do their best work and position Brightscout as a trusted technical partner to our clients.ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership: Define and drive the engineering strategy aligned with Brightscout's long-term vision; oversee technical execution across multiple concurrent projects; own and continuously improve engineering processes including sprint planning, QA, deployment, and documentation.Team Development & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and coach engineers of all levels; build and scale the engineering team through hiring, onboarding, and career development; foster strong team dynamics through regular 1:1s and transparent growth paths.Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the senior engineering representative in client meetings; translate technical complexity into clear, business-aligned insights; support technical discovery, estimation, and architecture decisions; partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery excellence.Technical Oversight: Guide the architecture of robust, secure, and scalable cloud-native solutions using modern tech stacks (AWS, Node.js, Go, React, Next.js, etc.); enforce engineering standards (code reviews, testing, CI/CD); stay ahead of emerging technologies to elevate capabilities.Requirements8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in engineering or team management.Proven ability to grow, lead, and inspire development teams in an agency or professional services setting.Strong technical background in both frontend (TypeScript, React, Next.js, etc.) and backend (Node.js, Golang, Python, etc.) technologies.Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (especially AWS), and scalable systems architecture.Exceptional project leadership, organizational, and time management skills.Excellent communication, empathy, and stakeholder management—able to navigate technical and business conversations with confidence.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project-based work.Commitment to high standards of quality, collaboration, and delivery; a bias for action, ownership, and continuous improvement.Our ValuesLead with Heart: We build honest, trusting relationships and care for each other.Break Convention: We seek bold ideas and transform fearless creativity into tangible results.Bring Order to the Chaos: We transform complexity into clarity.Be a Champion: We strive for excellence.Why UsUnlimited PTO: Flexible work-life balance with unlimited paid time off.Remote Work: Work from anywhere; choose your ideal environment.Flexible Schedule Tied To Project Needs: Schedules aligned with project milestones.Salary in USD: Competitive compensation in USD.Interview ProcessResume ReviewScreening Interview by Talent TeamInterview with Co-FounderInterview with Tech Lead + Senior Team MembersInterview with Leadership TeamFinal Selection and OfferEEO StatementBrightscout is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
