Dangerous Goods Program Manager, Regional Ops Compliance Latam

Amazon's Dangerous Goods (DG) team is looking for a Risk Specialist to plan and execute dangerous goods compliance projects and maintain operational performance in Brazil.Key responsibilitiesIdentify opportunities to leverage technology to build and improve upon a best-in-class systems for Dangerous Goods transportationIdentify regulatory risks in new products, services and provide guidance for risk mitigationInterpret new or changing regulations related to Dangerous Goods transportation in the different shipping modes: ground, air and sea; to determine how they apply to our business operationsProvide end-to-end Dangerous Goods compliance project management support and guidance for complex business and operations projects/initiatives.A day in the lifeThis individual will work closely with numerous internal partner teams, including: Amazon Fulfillment Technology, Transportation, Catalog, Classification, Legal, Retail, FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon), and our operations teams.
The Risk Specialist will demonstrate excellent judgment and instincts in decision-making, and proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge of Amazon's businesses, fulfillment models, and relevant technologies.

If you\'d like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history.Basic QualificationsCompleted bachelor\'s degree in business, engineering, operations or similar graduate degree (MBA, Ph.D or related advanced degree preferred)Experience in a highly regulated industry such as petrochemical, automotive, pharmaceutical etcVerbal and written communication skills; at ease in dealing with ambiguity and communicating with senior management, demonstrates flexibility to adapt scope and projects, ability to present complex issues in a concise way, ability to write documentsEnglish and Portuguese proficiency language, both oral and verbalCertification and/or experience in Dangerous Goods or regulated hazardous materials complianceExperience managing regulations and standards from National Ground Transportation Agency (ANTT), National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), as well other global regulations and standards like DOT, ADR, IATAPreferred QualificationsKnowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma philosophy and methodologyExperience in a regulatory compliance environmentKnowledge of data warehouse and SQLPrevious experience in an e-commerce environment or other fast-paced, technology driven businessesProgram management experience including cross-team coordination, project management, and communication across multiple stakeholdersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
