About This RoleWe are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team in a key Business Development Manager position, focusing on the mining segment. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing growth strategies to achieve annual sales targets and market penetration goals.Key Responsibilities:Drive growth through the development of strategic plans and partnerships with key decision-makers at mining corporations.Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.Market Intelligence & Expansion:Explore new business opportunities in adjacent sectors, such as quarrying, construction, and ports.Identify potential partners or collaborations that can drive growth and expansion.Sales Operations Leadership:Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue growth, profit margins, and market share.Provide regular updates to regional leadership on sales performance and strategy.Job Requirements:Mandatory Qualifications:Industry Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales within the mining sector.Sales Competency: Proven track record of achieving >20% year-over-year growth in complex sales environments.Expertise in Large Account Development: Ability to secure contracts valued over ZAR 50M.
