At Rain, we are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team in LATAM.This individual will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in software development and a strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.They should also possess a proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages such as Go / Golang, Java, Python, and C++.We are looking for someone who can design and implement reliable systems and applications within a fully distributed micro-services architecture.The candidate should have experience building reliable and scalable user-facing applications and be proficient in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures.As a member of our Enterprise Tribe, this engineer will collaborate with our product and engineering teams to provide financial freedom to over 1 million employees by managing the data ingestion of over 10 million timekeeping records per day.Key Responsibilities:Designing and implementing robust technical solutionsLeading engineering efforts to meet ambitious targetsBuilding and maintaining integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partnersDesigning and implementing highly available RESTful APIs supporting user-facing web and mobile applicationsCreating reusable code and libraries that can be shared across teamsEnforcing observability best practicesCreating and maintaining detailed technical documentationRequirements:At least 5 years of experience in software developmentA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experienceProficient knowledge of back-end programming languages such as Go / Golang, Java, Python, and C++Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIsExperience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies and a solid understanding of database concepts and internalsAt Rain, we are committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, ethnicity, gender, sex (including pregnancy), protected veteran status, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any unlawful criterion existing under applicable federal, state, or local laws.
