Field Development TechnicianPosition Summary:Support the researcher at the Artur Nogueira experimental field in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, to organize and implement the previously planned field trials with Gowan products, acting with confidentiality and professionalism, being a reliable source for the establishment and development of the established trials for the duration of the trial.Job Status:Full-TimeSalaried / CLTWorkplace: Artur Nogueira, São Paulo, BrazilReports to: LATAM Development ManagerRelationship: Brazil Development CoordinatorRole Responsibilities:Support the implementation of activities for the establishment of field trials for efficacy testing under our own responsibility, in accordance with the annual trial planning and the instructions of the Biological Efficacy Evaluation Department for all sectors (Fungicides, Insecticides, Nematicides, Herbicides and Bio stimulants).Give recommendation for the good planning and implementation of the study protocol based on the inputs of project leaders, Research managers and Technical Managers, including timelines and cropping for the best success of the trialsEnsure the correct execution of the field trial and all related activities, including:To understand the trial objectives and proper standard methodologiesSupport to prepare the relevant materials needed to carry out the trialSupport to search for the proper field for trial allocation and prepare the field plot designSupport to calculate the dose rate and to prepare the spray solutionTo apply the products and the artificial inoculations/infestationsSupport to evaluate the product performance according to agreed protocols and to register accurately the data in ARMProvide critical analysis of the field trial data produced and a clear detailed final reportUse and maintain comprehensive database for archiving and sharing the produced information at request within the technical organization of the Company in alignment with agreed deadlinesMaintain and develop a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of research and developments techniques to ensure the best methods to carry out the trials of own responsibility (small plot, profiling, registration or demo trials)Develop and maintain contacts with local extension services and Research Institute to ensure the best practice for the implementation of the field trial workRepresent the organization at local meetings and events on technical issues, ensuring that a positive image of the Company is promotedEnsure that the equipment and the facilities of the field station are well maintained following all safety measures for the conducting of the field trial workComply with internal and local regulations for the execution of officially recognized registration and residue trials (trial notification and yield destruction) inside the Testing FacilityParticipate to the organization and execution of field trial visits for own trials in close collaboration with project leaders, research manager and technical manager.Education:A background education (high school or bachelor's degree) in agriculture or biological science.Experience / Skills / Abilities:At least 2years of experience in research trials for crop protection or agronomyBasic knowledge of the Crop Protection sectorAccuracy and precision skills in all operational phasesGood interpersonal and team working skillsAbility to work in autonomy according to the agreed planningAbility for driving tractors and farming equipment is preferableJob Expectations / Working Conditions:Attitude for role often physically demanding and involving use of farm machinery and manual workAbility to work in unfavorable environmental conditionsAvailable to stay sometimes far from home for short periods
