**Responsibilities**:
- Ensures Compliance with Safety and Environmental Standards as required by law and company policy (Field Inspections & Critical Controls)- Ensures the safety of maintenance personnel.
Leads and supports the safety program and all safety efforts.
Conducts or ensures safety training is completed-
- Plans, develops, and implements maintenance methods and procedures designed to reduce downtime, minimize operating costs, and optimize the utilization of technicians, materials, and assets across the entire high purity quartz process- Develops a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensures full preventative maintenance is carried out, plans missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively- Define the maintenance strategy for the assets under your responsibility (focus on critical and extremely critical assets) - Sets goals for maintenance performance through establishing KPIs- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements- Identifies and initiates the principles and techniques of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to improve quality, eliminate waste, decrease costs, and improve productivity- Identifies and plans necessary CAPEX- Completes budgetary plans and cost control activities and reporting- Oversees the execution of all maintenance-related expenses and CAPEX projects- Manages an annual budget of approximately 15 million annually excluding labour costs- Ensure the correct use of SAP in all maintenance processes-
- Directs, oversees and/or support with all recruiting, training, personnel development, and optimum functioning of the maintenance team.
- Develops supervisors and operators by coaching, training, properly delegating responsibility and emphasizing accountability for assigned responsibilities- Audits, solves problems, improves maintenance operations, and facilitates investigating and correcting actions associated with quality and safety events.
Trains supervisors and senior operators in same efforts- Aligns its management with the vision of SIBELCO and Spruce Pine
Educational Background and prior professional experience:
- Bachelor's degree- Minimum 10 years experience as a Maintenance Leader or Manager or equivalent in a manufacturing or mining environment
