Job OverviewThe role of Information Technology Support Technician involves providing technical assistance and support to the IT team.
This position requires a strong foundation in network devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.Main Responsibilities:Troubleshooting issues with fiber links between switches is crucial for maintaining network stability.Patching phone ports to switches as needed ensures seamless communication.Basics troubleshooting of Avaya VOIP phones requires knowledge of voice over internet protocol systems.Collaborating with network and data center administrators during technical troubleshooting is essential for resolving complex issues.Candidates should also have experience in SLA-based environments and knowledge of server performance monitoring to effectively manage system resources.Required Skills and Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary for this role.Basic knowledge of network devices and operating systems is essential for understanding network configurations.Experience with ITSM tools, preferably ServiceNow, is beneficial for managing service requests and incidents.Familiarity with backup technologies, such as EMC Avamar, is important for ensuring data integrity.Knowledge of Windows 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003, and File/Print Server is required for managing network services.This role offers opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic work environment.
