About ALUME Institute
ALUME Institute is a Brazilian non-profit NGO based in Fazenda ALUME, Ilhéus, Bahia, dedicated to strengthening communities through education, sustainability, health, and culture.
We work in the areas of preservation and reforestation of the Atlantic Forest, creating Artistic Residencies, planting agroforestry, and starting eco-friendly communities that live in a mode of abundance in harmony with nature.
ALUME Farm spans 42 hectares (100 acres) of land, with 7 springs of pure crystal water, located 7 km from the ocean in Bahia, known as Cacao Coast.
Half of the land remains in its natural habitat, while the other half has been previously exploited.
Our goal is to reforest degraded areas, restore biodiversity, and bring prosperity to the land using agroforestry and subtropical planting methods, removing colonized cultures like latex trees and accumulated trash.
Additionally, ALUME aims to acquire more land for preservation, reforestation, and creating tribal co-living communities for social and spiritual growth.

Role Overview
We seek a Fundraising Specialist / CFO to join as a co-founder.
Key Responsibilities
Lead fundraising and grant writing efforts in Brazil (essential)
Explore international funding opportunities (a plus)
Manage financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
Design fundraising campaigns and impact finance models
Support long-term financial sustainability and strategy
Commitment
Experienced: 10h/week | Junior: 15h/week
This role starts as a volunteer during the MVP phase, transitioning into a salaried leadership position once funding is secured.
Who We're Looking For
Fluent in Portuguese & English
Strong experience in fundraising, grants, or financial management in Brazil (must-have)
Familiarity with international funding (a plus)
Skilled in financial planning & reporting
Motivated by social impact, sustainability, and innovation
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable in a startup NGO environment
