About Senior Software Development ExpertA leading end-to-end development consultancy seeks a hands-on engineer to join our high-performing team, focused on building highly available, large-scale, and low-latency data platforms.This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can immediately contribute to solving complex challenges, driving technical excellence, and enhancing DevOps and backend infrastructure.You'll collaborate with a collaborative, empowered, and agile team responsible for enterprise data distribution applications and backend APIs that serve external customers worldwide.Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable backend systems and APIs.Lead and own DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline management, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration.Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring secure, reproducible, and automated deployments.Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems.Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with security best practices.Manage and optimize AWS services (S3, RDS, EventBridge, SQS, IAM, VPC, ECR, etc.).Deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and Docker images in production environments.Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and drive root cause analysis.Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.Collaborate across engineering teams (Platform, Security, UX) to ensure seamless integration and delivery.The successful candidate will have 8+ years of professional experience in functional programming, with Node.js / JavaScript.Additionally, they will have proven experience with DevOps practices and cloud-native environments.The following skills are also desirable:Experience with automated database migrations and versioning.Background in API integration and distribution systems.Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).Exposure to multi-region cloud deployments.Previous experience supporting regulated industries or compliance-driven environments.Passion for mentoring team members and driving engineering best practices.We prioritize the privacy of all candidates in compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
