***Please note, this is a voluntary unpaid part-time role that is fully remote.Hours are fully flexible, but we would be looking for someone who can commit to around at least 3-6 hours per week.***Position title:Regional Director, Americas and CaribbeanLocation: RegionalCategory: FTA InternationalLevel: DDuration: 4 YearsSupervisor/Report to: Secretary GeneralJob type: Voluntary Service (VS) Part-TimeOverview:The Fédération Internationale de la Jeunesse in English International Youth Federation (IYF),is an international non-profit youth organization network governed by the present Statutesand the Swiss Civil Code.It is politically neutral, and non-denominational, aiming to empoweryouth worldwide.The IYF is a global youth network, an organization advocating for change and connectingcountries to knowledge, experience and resources to empower young people across theworld.IYF works in over 50 countries and territories, helping to achieve youth empowermentand improve the status of youth.The IYF Regional Director (RD) is the senior member of the International Youth Federation willserve as a senior official for IYF in one of the five regions.The Regional Director providesleadership to IYF Representatives in the region.The primary responsibility of the RegionalDirector is to ensure successful engagement of the region countries with the IYF strategies,missions, and visionMission Statement:To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of "Empowering youth for better world" in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions and the community.Responsibilities:(A) IYF Promotion Activities:Liaison with the governments and regional authorities to promote IYF values, mission, and vision at the regional levelEffectively engage in Regional/International youth activities, projects, and initiatives.(B) Teams Management/Leadership:Assist IYF administration in Representatives nomination, selections, andappointments.Assist the Representatives in establishing IYF country team (IYFCT) which comprisesnational volunteer officers (communications, youth, sport, and women) that areresponsible for facilitation of IYF activities at national level.Originate and attend Region (and Branch as required) online meetings and virtual events.(C) Regional Coordination Duties:Develop and expand IYF membership in the Region both qualitatively andquantitatively.Assist Representatives with engaging in fundraising activities, through strategicpartnerships and public engagement activities and initiatives.Promote the profile of the IYF and engage with international business.Assist in member organizations/Associations accreditation at IYF.Liaison with donors – In close coordination with the Representatives to developproposals and secure funding to ensure on-going IYF functions.Develop and maintain productive relationships with key public agencies in the Regionand a coherent and professional sponsorship strategy for the whole Region.Generate sponsorship and other income to meet or exceed budget targets.Managing a programme of high-quality events for Members across the Region on abreak even or better basis.Financial management of the Region as Budget Holder (in association with Finance Commission).(D) Communications Duties:Maintain active communication among IYF Representatives and other interestedagencies in at regional level.Act as a Regional focal point for Members by responding to inquiries, welcomingnew Staff Members, general liaison, and personal contact.Promote continuous improvements in quality of IYF activities and communications.Report youth achievements, success stories, youth progressing and related news at the regional level to HQ pressExperience:Experience and results preferred at national level preferred in youth empowerment role,development, communications, international relations, youth studies, sport, womenempowerment, youth-led organizations or other relevant field.
