Senior Ruby DeveloperWe are seeking a skilled Ruby Specialist to deliver a fast, clean and production-ready integration between Discourse and an existing Community application within two sprints.Main Responsibilities:Deliver the P1 Discourse to Community application integration with high quality standardsImplement SSO using Okta and OIDC ensuring secure token handling and session flowsCreate and test group and role mapping between Community roles and Discourse groups for effective collaborationDevelop backend Ruby adapters for moderation taxonomy and role syncing gated behind feature flags for flexible implementationImplement shared header and navigation elements for a consistent cross-platform experience enhancing user engagementCreate and validate webhook pipelines from Discourse into Snowflake for analytics providing valuable insightsDevelop a clear cutover and rollback plan including checklists and validation steps for smooth transitionWrite or review technical designs threat models and operational readiness documents for thorough planningPair with frontend and backend engineers to land adapters UI integration and test coverage for robust resultsCoordinate closely with Security and IT on Okta configuration secrets and access policies for secure data managementWork with Data Engineering to finalize webhook schemas retries and observability for reliable data analysisSupport sprint ceremonies demos and unblock teammates on integration or Ruby-related work ensuring team productivityEnsure all deliverables are tested documented and ready for production meeting high standardsAbout the Role:This is a high-impact engagement supporting an active squad.You'll work closely with backend frontend security IT and data engineering partners to unblock engineers validate designs and land the integration safely behind feature flags.You'll collaborate with a focused friendly and fast-moving team owning a deliverable that immediately impacts thousands of users.The work is scoped essential and a strong performer will be invited to continue supporting the platform through long-term commitment.Required Skills and Qualifications:Expertise in Ruby programming language and its ecosystemStrong understanding of software development methodologies and principlesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesBenefits:Opportunity to work on a high-impact project with a dynamic teamChance to develop skills and expertise in Ruby and related technologiesCollaborative and supportive work environmentFlexible working hours and remote work optionsOthers:Strong performers will be invited to continue supporting the platform through long-term commitment
