As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Senior Associate, you will be a key member of the Financial Actuarial & Analytics (FAA) Community of Expertise.
You will contribute to complex analyses and projects involving the design, financing, and measurement of employer health and group benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
You will interface with vendors and client service teams, prepare and communicate complex analyses, and ensure quality standards are met.
There is an opportunity to lead financial projects with small-to-midsized clients and work on cutting-edge projects alongside industry leaders.Develop knowledge of varying client complexities by working across different profiles, leading client engagements for small clients or managing FAA resources for more complex deliverables.Demonstrate advanced/expert knowledge in employee benefit plan design, underwriting, funding concepts, and H&B tools.Be a key member on multiple employer client teams providing financial analyses and client deliverables across regions.Provide guidance on benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.Review technical and consulting accuracy on client projects, including pricing, employee contributions, plan design alternatives, and reserves.Communicate complex financial/actuarial results effectively to drive client action.Partner with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for project management.Build strong internal relationships and collaborate on cross-functional teams.Qualifications5+ years' experience in professional services, preferably in benefit consulting, brokerage, health underwriting, or actuarial functions of insurance companies.Advanced knowledge of health and welfare products & services.Experience with big data analytics techniques preferred.Advanced understanding of underwriting and funding concepts.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality results on time and within budget.Ability to develop and expand client relationships.Strong problem-solving skills with limited information and experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated and capable of working independently and in teams.Strong analytical, creative, and integrative skills.Experience in guiding junior colleagues and providing feedback.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.Relevant financial experience and/or a university degree.Progress towards health actuarial or CEBS designation is optional.Note: Employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.This position will remain posted for at least three business days or until a suitable candidate is found.Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range is $90,000 to $130,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
