– Contract Must have tools: Triage, Python, C++, SQL Role Summary: The Technical Remediation Specialist will triage complex alerts, investigate issues, and perform system remediation for Google's Privacy, Safety & Security (PSS) organization. This role involves resolving complex Wipeout alerts, pipeline debugging, clearing operational backlogs, and providing structured root-cause analyses back to core engineering teams to eliminate recurring defects.
Key Responsibilities
& Deliverables
- Triage, investigate, and remediate complex Wipeout system alerts to achieve 80% Service Level Objective (SLO) compliance using standard runbooks, pipeline replays, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Perform deep-dive log parsing, complex data pipeline debugging, and execute pipeline replays/reruns across large internal codebase repositories.
- Systematically identify, tag, and categorize out-of-SLO root causes and recurring defect patterns, delivering actionable findings to core engineering teams for upstream deduplication.
- Author, update, and maintain lightweight Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and durable runbooks to establish standard resolution pathways and scale operational velocity.
- Actively manage alert routing, handle escalations, and perform quality audits across internal repositories. Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years in technical incident management, operational triage, pipeline debugging, and log analysis in large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and SQL for data querying, pipeline debugging, scripting, and code inspection within large-scale repositories.
- Experience leveraging modern AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., LLM coding assistants) to accelerate technical investigations.
- Strong documentation skills for producing clear, actionable runbooks and root-cause analysis reports.
