Our client in the retail health and personal care industry is hiring a Video Editor
The Role
We're looking for an editor who didn't learn craft from brand commercials. You learned it from cutting affiliate offers where every second either holds attention or loses the click. You know how to build hooks, pattern interrupts, and pacing that survives the Meta scroll, and you're not precious about "clean" edits if aggressive wins.
What You'll Do
- Edit high volume, direct response style video ads (UGC, VSLs, advertorial style video, native "ripped content" style creative) for Meta
- Build multiple hook variations per concept to feed rapid creative testing
- Work from raw UGC/creator footage, stock/found footage, and AI generated assets to assemble scroll stopping ads
- Apply aggressive DR editing techniques: pattern interrupts, text overlays, captions, retention hooks, fake native/organic styling, before/after framing, etc.
- Iterate fast on winning ads with new hooks, intros, and re cuts based on performance data from media buyers
- Maintain a high weekly output volume without sacrificing hook quality
- Collaborate directly with media buyers/creative strategists on what's working and what needs to change
Must Haves
- Background editing for affiliate/performance marketing offers, not brand or corporate video. Comfortable with "blackhat"/aggressive angle offers (biohacks, before/afters, urgency driven claims, native/organic style ads that don't look like ads)
- Strong grasp of what makes a video stop the scroll and hold watch time on Meta specifically
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, and/or DaVinci Resolve
- High output capacity, comfortable delivering multiple variants per day/week, not one polished video per month
- Portfolio or reel showing performance style, not portfolio style, editing
Nice to Haves
- Experience editing for health/wellness/nutra offers
- Basic AI tool fluency (voice cloning, AI avatars, auto captioning, generative b roll) to speed up production
- Copywriting instincts, you can suggest hook lines, not just execute someone else's script
