Online Teacher – Whole Child Education | IWS Online School

We are not looking for a teacher. At least, not in the traditional sense.

At IWS Online School, we are hiring teachers across all subjects, and we are looking for people who genuinely care about children and believe education is about much more than delivering a curriculum.

We are looking for someone who notices when a child is quieter than usual. Someone who celebrates the small victories. Someone who understands that confidence, curiosity, character and belonging matter just as much as academic progress.

You may have many years of teaching experience.

You may have relatively little.

That is not the first thing we look at.

We can provide training in curriculum delivery, assessment, pedagogy, online teaching practice, technology and classroom management.

What is much harder to train is:

• Strong character and responsibility
• Curiosity and willingness to learn
• A real desire to make a difference in a child’s life

The role

You will teach small groups of students online in your subject area and take responsibility for both their academic progress and their wider development.

This includes:

• Delivering engaging, high-quality online lessons
• Teaching your specialist subject effectively
• Building strong relationships with students
• Understanding each child as an individual
• Monitoring progress and providing meaningful feedback
• Supporting confidence, independence and curiosity
• Working collaboratively with the wider IWS team
• Communicating effectively with students, colleagues and families
• Participating in training and continuous professional development

Who we are looking for

We are recruiting across a wide range of subjects, including core academic subjects, languages, humanities, sciences, technology, creative subjects and other specialist areas.

What matters most is not simply what you teach.

It is how you make children feel while they are learning.

We want teachers who see the child before the lesson.

There is a real young person on the other side of the screen, living one year of their childhood that will never come back.

We take that responsibility seriously.

Our aim is not simply to cover content. We want children to leave IWS stronger, more confident, more curious and better prepared for the world ahead of them.
